GOD CREATED US TO HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM; therefore, time alone with Him should be a priority every day. If we neglect our quiet time ,we not only deprived ourselves of His precious fellowship, but we create hurt to God’s own heart. Jesus is waiting for you each morning when you wake up. Have you been faithful to keep your appointment with Him? Do you earnestly look forward to those times when you can be alone with Him? If not, a few suggestions may be helpful to you in your individual situation.
Get to bed at a reasonable hour so you are wide awake and unhurried in the morning, available for relaxed time with the Lord. If possible, morning is preferable because it prepares us for the challenges of the day, and cultivates the enjoyment of solitude with God, just being in His presence.
Don’t get into a rut; allow the Holy Spirit to direct you into new and creative quiet times. Perhaps, your fellowship with Jesus has been hindered by your business. If so, slow down and come apart with the Lord, anticipating His presence and resting in His love; “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you,and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart:and you shall find rest for your souls “(Matt.11:28-29).
