Nothing exemplifies more the value placed upon our Relationships than the awesome crucifixion and resurrection of God's son. The crucifixion was not merely a transaction; it was the lengths to which love will go to restore a broken relationship.
If God valued relationship enough to give His only Son for it, we cannot afford to hold ours cheaply. The marriage that has grown cold, the friendship strained by an unreturned call, the brother we have not forgiven — these are not small matters to God.
Reconciliation is costly. It always was. But we are a work-in-progress, and the Potter is still shaping us into people who forgive quickly, speak gently, and stay.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32
